Haworth based Plug Lock solved a problem to with health and
safety in homes, hospitals, schools; in fact anywhere where
a building has mains electricity. The Plug Lock provides a
secure method to lock essential 13 amp plugs in their socket
to stop children and adults from accidently unplugging
equipment; particularly when it is essential that the
equipment is not switched off!
channels4profit's involvement was to establish the right
channels to market for the company. After conducting extensive
market research, a major UK component distributor was identified
and signed up as the UK distributor (CPC). But this is not the
complete story. A distributor by their nature is a delivery
channel; not a market maker, so channels4profit then focused on
how best to communicate the benefits of Plug Lock to the target
buyer. This involved a multitude of activities; revamping the
web site, attending trade shows, editorials in key journals to
name but a few.
Two years on the company still has CPC as its UK distributor.
In a market where component suppliers are chopped and changed on
a regular basis, this is testament to the strategy
